According to the author, this book was intended for "young readers". As a middle school teacher, I know that the majority of my student's would struggle with Swanson's rich vocabulary at times. As an adult, I enjoyed this book tremendously. I have learned about the events in this book my whole life, listened to my parent's separate accounts of the day, and seen the late President's library. However, there are details in this book that I have not learned before. Swanson believes, since nothing else has been proven, that Lee Harvey Oswald is the sole killer. There is no reason to rate the book poorly because you have a different belief. I happen to admire he isn't trying to fill students' heads with conspiracy theories. He does mention these in the epilogue and explains why he doesn't take these as gospel. I also like that since we don't know everything Lee Harvey Oswald did, that Swanson admits that other events could have happened. Overall, I think this is a good book that shows what JFK's death meant to the nation.
