Bones in Her Pocket Description
A new story featuring forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan - from #1 New York Times best-selling author and FOX TV?s Bones producer, Kathy Reichs.
When a fly-covered canvas bag floats to the surface of North Carolina?s Mountain Island Lake, forensic anthropologist Tempe Brennan is called to the scene. Animal remains? Or could this be related to bone fragments from a human male found nearby?
To Tempe?s surprise, the decomposed body indicates the person was a female young adult. The profile fits the description of a missing graduate student named Edith Blankenship. Was Blankenship murdered? If so, why?
Blankenship?s body turned up on an artist colony where an eco-radical named Herman Blount has been squatting. Blount has posted online rants threatening to blow up a power station he says is polluting the area. Is Blount capable of violence?
Blankenship was a loner, but she proved a dedicated advocate for birds at UNC?Charlotte and the Carolina Raptor Center. Did Blankenship?s passion lead her into danger? Alongside Detective ?Skinny? Slidell, Tempe puts life on hold until she discovers the truth behind Blankenship?s death. But Tempe?s own passion for crime solving will lead her into danger of her own.
Bones in Her Pocket is an exhilarating new installment in the Temperance Brennan series.

Bones in her Pocket is a short story available on Kindle in the Temperance Brennan series by American author, Kathy Reichs. Tempe is called out to an Artists Colony at Mountain Island Lake in North Carolina, where a bag of bones has washed up. Tempe assumed that this is part of the corpse belonging to some leg bones she has examined, until she finds this corpse already has legs. Masses of tiny bones accompanying the skeleton add an element of intrigue. This little story has a missing Environmental Sciences student, a crazy-sounding, arrogant environmental protestor, a lecherous lecturer and a gossipy museum volunteer. Tempe gives us interesting tidbits on under water decomps and manages to get herself into hot water. Add the sneak peek at the next Tempe Bennan novel, Bones of the Lost, and this Kindle offering is well worth the price.

... at first one big puzzle for Dr Tempe Brennan, forensic anthropologist.
When our heroine is called into a private owned retiring place for artists of all kind, she hopes to find some more pieces of one John Doe MCMA-422-13 than the fibula, tibia and two vertebre she has in her cell at her lab in Charlotte/North-Carolina.
But at Mountain Island Lake which has increased in the last week over 15 feet she finds a bag. And in the bag a corpse held together by the cloths.
No way this was Mr Tibia Fibula.
So now she has a female dead person whose remains fit the description of a missing girl called Edith Blanckenship, who was a student helping in her spare time at a center for injured raptors like owls, falcons, bald eagles - the whole range of those kind of birds.
But behind the disappearance of Edith Dr. Tempe Brennan aka Bones will find a much more gruesome secret. And she can only with a lot of luck avoid to become a victim herself...
A good, fast-paced read for all the friends and lovers of "Bones" with a very sad but also very interesting and all-tied-up ending. And once more me and some other readers will certainly ask ourselves where our world is bound to end...
As a bonus "Bones In Her Pocket" also gives the readers the first chance to take a look at the opening chapters of Kathy's new thriller,
Bones of the Lost: A Temperance Brennan Novel, coming out on August, 15.
Which I personally will buy for sure!
