I got this hoping it would give my very shy daughter some tips on how to be more comfortable making new friends. Some of the ideas were good, but it is geared more toward kids who may be on the autism spectrum and don't know how to have appropriate interactions with people. It gave more advice on how to not overwhelm people, make eye contact, appropriate physical contact, etc. rather than how to approach people when you are just plain shy. But there were some ideas for that as well.

I'm very glad to have found this book. I've made copies for children to use on a daily basis and also to share with friends. I work with children of all ages and some of them really struggle to make lasting relatinships. The book is very easy to understand and has games that adults can play with children. Chapter 9 is titled Managing Conversation Challenges. I applied this to a child relocating to a new school and having to go through an interview process. She found it very helpful. Great Job !
