Alvin Schwartz’s books include the I Can Read Book In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories, illustrated by Dirk Zimmer, a 1984 ALA Notable Children’s Book, and Ghosts!: Ghostly Tales from Folklore, illustrated by Victoria Chess (see page 32). He lives in Princeton, NJ, and Deer Isle, ME.
