About the Author
Henry W. Wright is the president and founder of Be in Health Global,
located in Thomaston, Georgia. He was exposed to the power of spiritual
healing at an early age when his mother was miraculously cured of
terminal cancer and a fatal tumor that was wrapped around her jugular
vein. Today, Wright is committed to the belief that human problems
are fundamentally spiritual, with associated physical and psychological
manifestations. With his pre-med background and insights into the
medical as well as the spiritual aspects of disease, he brings a fresh
perspective to the process of ministering to the sick. He has presented
seminars worldwide and across broad denominational lines for a number
of years and is a frequent guest on many well-known television and radio
programs.

As a practicing physician for 17 years; one who has studied and practiced medicine in South Africa and at Duke University with an additional Masters degree in science, I strongly recommend this book for those who want to understand God's perspective on sickness and health and those for whom medicine has nothing to offer other than chronic or harmful medication. From a medical perspective, the spiritual roots identified in A More Excellent Way are entirely consistent with the scientific findings of modern mind-body medicine, called psychoneuroimmunoendocrinology. The associations between stress, anxiety and fear and specific diseases are well established. What is important, and unique about this book, is that it identifies fear, guilt and shame, and their various extensions, as sin - which indeed they are. It is a verifiable scientific fact that their effects specifically parallel specific parts of the body: Fear affects tissues of the skin, nervous system and electrical supply of the heart and cardiovascular system directly (i.e., the ectoderm derivatives); guilt, anger and bitterness affect the musculoskeletal system (mesoderm derivatives); and shame affects the intestines and endocrine system (endoderm derivatives). So the specific medical associations are valid but far more detailed than medicine has been able to prove to date. What this book does is to allow the believer to identify these problems, repent for them as sin, and renew (recalibrate) their mind to God's truth. This important component is where mind-body medicine is still floundering: It identifies the problems but offers limited solutions. So I would like to encourage readers to come on the same side of their Creator and be restored. Christ himself made a clear association between sin and disease in several places in the Gospels.
